I'm so dead. Sigh. Suddenly I opened my schedule book and I'm instantly overwhelmed with a deadly sense of dread. Die la, my schedule is dead darn packed. Where is that breather in between all those things I needa do? Oh ya, I breathed in all at once when I came to Kuching. I'm so dead.

And then I wonder what the hell was I thinking when I poked my nose into things I shouldn't be sniffing at? Argh. All I wanted was something small and cosy on my birthday next week, but looks like I'll be dirty and sweating it out in orientation camp. Damn the organisers. Damn the clashing dates. Damn... my nose.

And then, to rub salt to the already-stinging wound, I realise I have hall seniors' camp the day I finish my school camp, that means my weekend is busted too. Double argh.

Where's the time for me to teach tuition? To go relax (again) in JB? To go shopping in the ending of the Great Singapore Sale?

Argh.

Just realised that my schedule is jammed packed once I get back from Kuching. Sigh. And the thought of getting busy again makes me very lethargic.

That means I'll have to treasure every single leisurely moment I have in Kuching.

It's my... 6th day here in Kuching, and I think I've barely done nothing as of yet.

Went prawning on Sunday with my cousin for a while, and we've got 3 big ones.

Still haven't reformat my laptop coz I was waiting for my dad to do it with me. (And my dad hasn't really been very free these days.)

Bought a LOT of games though. Seriously. PS2 games rocks here. It's 5 RM (2.20 SGD) here per piece, as compared to the 10 SGD games in Singapore. I guess the pirates in Singapore still have to cover transportation and risk costs whenever they ferry in those pirated games across the causeway. Actually I'm facing those risks too, but who's gonna look at this lone little girl when she pulls her luggage across the customs?

Hee.

I'm thoroughly impressed. The capital city of East Malaysia has faced developmental stagnation for many years, but today I've finally seen the seemingly impossible achievement right before my eyes. The once miserable and pathetic airport in quaint old Kuching has undergone a massive plastic surgery. Now it takes me about 10 minutes to walk from arrival hall to departure hall (yes, they are connected). Last time it took barely 3. I kid you not, but maybe I was a wee bit exaggerating.

I wonder what kind of wonderment happened within this 1 year while I was back in Singapore. Someone must have shook the government from its near eternal sleep.

Anyway, before I get too technical and political, I just landed about 3 hours ago, now more or less settled down, watched some tv with my grandma. And I think I'll try to lead the peaceful life here in Kuching while I still can.

I'm so stoned now. Can't believe inter-sem is finished. (To the hell with it.)

Anyway, this means I'm really gonna be flying off tomorrow. That's fast eh?

Clearing out my room a little, so it makes moving easier on me. Heck, since when do I have so many things in my room?

Things to do in Kuching:

1. Eat lots of Kolo Mee. (I don't mind if I fall sick. Just don't make me get sick of Kolo Mee.)

2. Buy lots of games back. PS2, com, whatever crap they have. Heck, it's an average of 5 RM per disc.

3. Go shopping mad. Nuff said.

4. Buy a lot of food back. I might even consider da bao Kolo Mee back, but it's a little lame.

5. Finish watching all my dramas and movies and what-not.

6. Reformat my laptop, plus try to zhng/mod whatever I think can zhng/mod.

Argh. It's too difficult to study in this cold weather. Think I'm gonna fall sick soon. It's always the case. I seem to have a knack for falling sick just before exams. Argh.

Or maybe it's just psychological effects.

I just wanna sleep in.

Gonna fly off to Kuching in about a week's time. Yep, it's that fast. This time my schedule is packed full. My exam's on thursday, and I'll be leaving noon on friday, coming back on the 27th, and subject registration is on the 28th. Lol, it's that tight. Oh well, I don't mind, keeps me busy. The only thing is that I'm missing out on jobs that are really paying well. Shucks.

Gonna go out with 3 groups of people today. Ven and Xin for lunch, then the guys for dinner, then probably meeting Xin (this is confusing) at Wala-wala. Yeah, probably I'll be out the whole day. Gotta meet with all the peeps before I fly off, especially since I'll be missing Ven's birthday (again), and it's her 21st this year. Sigh.

Need go prepare to go out soon.

Went to watch Grease at the indoor stadium on Friday. The singing and acting was not bad, but I felt it was a little low on production cost, which made things look a little shabby. But well, the female lead had a damn power voice.

Anyway, I'm supposed to talk about things that happened before and after the show. That's the more exciting part.

The show was at 8pm. Both of us had the whole day free, and we could have gotten out earlier so we wouldn't need to rush, but no, we had to watch Wo Cai in the afternoon until we had to rush to prepare to set off. Bad choice.

Wanted to eat Sofra, this cozy Turkish restaurant down at Shaw Tower. It's a little overpriced, but the food's not bad, and the cheese is good. Think it'll make quite a nice place to celebrate birthdays.

Anyway, by the time we settled down in Sofra, it was close to 6.45, and we wanted to reach the stadium early. (Yeah, see what procrastination does to you.) Had dinner, then left hurriedly since we needed to get a cab as soon as possible. A little too hurriedly I guess, coz we forgotten the tickets AND his glasses at the restaurant. That, was the highlight before the show. (There's another highlight after that.) Wonder what we'd do if we really did forget the tickets and left for kallang. Luckily we remembered just before we flagged down a taxi, if not I think that'll be er, 120 bucks down the drain. Plus his specs, that'll be an additional cost of er, 150 bucks? Oh man.

Well, the show was yada-yada... (Look up. First line. Yes, that's it.)

It ended really early. Considering that it was the last night of performance, there was no encore, no mingling with the audience, no nothing. Kinda like an anticlimax. Well, at 10.30pm on Friday, we were once again stuck in a situation. There were hell lots of people flooding out of the stadium, so the taxi stand was out of the question. The next step? You call for one. Wrong. Next time, never expect yourself to be able to get a cab when there's about 500 (exaggerated) other people waiting for 'on call' cabs just like you. The operator made us wait on the line for ages before she finally came back to us to say there was no taxi available. I think that's really kinda sad. Says who taxi drivers don't have businesses waiting?

Anyway, we were left without much choices. Either we wait miserably at the busstop for a bus that both of us don't really know where it's going, or we walk down. Actually, common sense, we should have taken a bus. At least it's gonna go AT LEAST somewhere. But nah, we chose to walk. Lol. Yeah, took a stroll down the road (don't ask me which road).

Somehow or rather by some stroke of luck, we saw Geylang's lights flashing. You know all those bright bright neon lights? Right. At least we know there are more taxis there. By the time we finally reached Geylang, we were jokingly saying if we actually find the right dimsum place, we'll have supper. And you know Geylang isn't that small. There's only that slim of a chance we'll walk into the supper place we went the other time. (The one with the unforgettable chee cheong fun.)

The first place we saw was this coffeeshop just at the corner of the road, and we needed desperately to get drinks. Just beside that shop was this small inconspicuous dark alley. You know, where all the *ahem* business deals are done? Yep. Could have just gotten the drink from that coffeeshop and hop into a taxi homeward bound, but we chose to walk down that alley. Along that alley, you really see all the lau ah peks and the pretty girls talking to each other. Not the most comfortable place you'd wanna be in.

We reached the end of the alley, hoping to find a nice kopitiam to relax, but what caught my eye was this gigantic red signboard: SONG KEE something something. Ok la, that wasn't the dimsum shop we were looking for, but I know the Mongkok dimsum (the one we were finding) was nearby. Woot. The famous tau huey shop was just opposite the dimsum shop too. Some stroke of luck. I mean, what are the chances of you walking from Indoor Stadium to finding the perfect dimsum shop in Geylang?

Small adventure huh?
